Job Jar

My mom came down (awhile ago) when I was in despirate need to "tame" my children. When we was growing up, my mom had us do the job jar, and it was the funnest thing ever. So, my mom brought down the jar with stickers, and the spirit to do good for my kids. So, here is a couple of pictures of the kids doing the jobs. (I only got the twins. I guess they were cutter cleaning? Or maybe its because they were the only ones having fun) They loved it, for a moment. I guess that is why you have to mix things up and then re-introduce them later on.

The Jar!

Tera Lynn got "clean off table"

Look at Tianna Kaye go.

They were doing such a good job.
My mom told me I better update. This was awhile ago, but it was first on my list. Stay tunned...

That's such a good idea! You're Mom has such great ideas.

It's funny because today I started a chore chart and bedtime routine for the kids. I made the chart list on construction paper. I decorated them really cute and I bought some stickers for the chart as well. I'm going to Walmart to buy glass jars so we can decorate them. Marshall and Mady will start getting allowances in their decked out jars every day they do their chores and follow their betime routine.

I hope your job jar is a success as well!!

I've tried job charts, and bean jars, and asking, and pleading, and threatening to take away toys, beds, and their lives, but alas I have still don't have children that will help me clean.

Cute girls! I like that they clean in their underwear. Well I need some ideas. I am going to start a chore chart. Well I have a few. But I need to let my kids start earning some money. I found this idea called 1-2-3. You ask your kids to do something#1, ask them again#2, nicely. Then if they don't do it #3, you clean the room (or do the job) then tell them the cost of you doing the job. Beforehand set up a price list as to what you charge for what chores. It will only take once or twice for them to pay you to do their chores. Then they will do them right away. Also it teaches them about money and to be responsible with it.

The job jar was my salvation many at time. I remember how fast you kids all cleaned.... many hands make it quick. I think you kids liked it, too!

It was fun to do the job jar with the kids. Summer is coming up--we'll have to make the chores a fun and rewarding part of it. When I come down tomorrow, I'll bring down some more ideas.
